I had an excellent experience with this clinic. I was greeted right away and Maya got me checked in quickly. I barely had any time to wait before I was seen, and had plenty of time to ask questions. Felicia came in after the appointment to do a draw, and was so kind and quick I didn't even realize she'd started until it was over! I'm glad I found such kind, helpful professionals to help me manage my healthcare. Thanks, Lakeview Team!

New West Physicians in Denver was bought by Optum in 2017. Since then, they have become very dysfunctional. It's obvious that the focus shifted from patient care to maximizing profits. The good doctors quit. It takes months to get an appointment. They are very unresponsive to requests. Very high employee turnover. Records are lost. This is what's wrong with corporate healthcare.

Had been with New West Physicians for 10 years, but the admin staff is really bad now. Can't say anything about doctors, as they have crazy turnover, have not been seen by the same doctor twice in 3 years. Now last November they stopped taking my insurance, but didn't tell me. They even took my insurance card and scanned it before the physical, and didn't say a word. Now I am being billed for out of network. I called their billing department, got a case number, and a month later get another statement. They told me that this is the correct deductible for my insurance for out-of-network. The only way to resolve it is for my insurance to talk to the provider. Wait, aren't you the provider? No, we're only 3rd party billing, we're not the provider. What utter craziness!!!! Now I need to ask my insurance, with whom they cancelled their contract, to ask them to not bill me for being out of network?
Update after 2 more months: Got several more statements from the third party billing provider, escalated some more, and now they are threatening me with collection. Whenever I call the office, they say they are sorry, I will get a call back from the office manager. Many weeks went by, no call from the office manager, but the third party billing service from India tells me my options are exhausted and they will send it to collection. So much for patient care!

This is the absolute WORST doctors office you can go to. They will NEVER do what they say regarding appointments or prescriptions but they are super quick in over charging. They can’t keep the same doctors on staff because they run the office so horribly!!! DO NOT GO HERE!! You will regret it.

This place has completely fallen apart! Total incompetency top to bottom! If they tell you they're going to call you back, bet everything you own that they WON'T! You'll win every time! If you need a prescription refilled that you've been getting for years, they'll also try to get you to go in so they can charge you the $300 visitation fee so they can do exactly what they would've done over the phone! If your family or elderly are going here, tell them to find somewhere else! If they have a serious illness or condition, these guys will totally leave you and your family hanging!

I feel this Dr's office clearly has no interest if you get good medical care or die. It has been 4 mos since a CT Scan indicated something suspicious and I am still waiting on a proper referral for a FNA Biopsy 1 month after the ultrasound. Two times, they have referred me to Clinics that don't perform the FNA biopsy procedure, and one of the clinics stopped doing it 4 years ago, and I had to notify the Dr. office that they no longer performed them. The 2nd referral was to another office that didn't perform them either. Each time I wait on a referral, a week or more goes by and I usually have to follow-up with the Dr. office to see what wrong place they are going to send me. I have tried contacting the PA and never get past a front office person who just moves my task to "urgent", which doesn't seem to work. I get no feeling that they care about my health whatsoever and there is no commitment to their Hippocratic Oath. My Dad is a retired Med Mal attorney and has used words like "egregious", "outrageous", and far below the "standard of care" for this case where something such a known irregularity is there for so long without being able to get a biopsy so far. He said this is going to be a an attorney's dream case if it turns out to be cancerous. I think it's a sign that my time might be up since it seems to be impossible to get a magical referral from this Dr. to get a necessary procedure. The Colorado Board of Medicine might want to look at this office and their follow-up procedures a little more carefully since there seems to be a lack of standard of care. I would not go here at all and have already switched PCP and have a referral in less than 24 hours from writing this review. Be warned, Lakeview Family Medicine might now be an agent for the Angel of Death.

I would have to agree that things have fallen apart. My last visit the Dr. didn't know how to use the medical record system and thought that I had diabetes when I do not. I called today to transfer my medical records to another practice. BEWARD, you will want to pull your hair out, they use a 3rd party service that is painful to deal with and they want you to fax forms (I don't have a fax at home). Ugh!

Wow this place has gone downhill fast since Dr. Sunde retired (he was great). I called to make an annual physical appointment back in early January but was told I was not eligible till after March. As things happen I found myself needed to be out of town for two Months in April and May. I have been going to this office for 30 years. They have 30 years of my medical history and know I have gotten an annual physical every year for 30 years. They initially prescribed this medicine. Despite this they refused to refill my cholesterol prescription until I had an annual physical. I told them I could do it in mid May when I returned to Denver. I talked to four different people from the office on the phone and explained I was going to be out of town for two months. Their solution was to deny my prescription (twice). Dr. Hemler clearly could care less about the health and welfare of patients. The pharmacist was as shocked as me. So for the next 60 days unless I can figure something else out I will be without my cholesterol medicine. I am not sure how malpractice is defined but this has to be close.

Do not go to this office or use Dr. Hemler both uncaring and unprofessional.
