I was a Client at gateway foundation correction in Wilmer TX, 2017. And I really don't know why there is so much hate in the reviews. Because this place saved my life literally. I was an addict for 20 years and the help and support I received in this program helped me see that I could recover. And I have. I will always be an addict but I am still sober and living my best life. And I owe it all to gateway and Ms. Barbra Becker & Ms. Hall. If you don't want to get better then yeah this place would suck! But if you really want a way out of addiction then this place will be your saving grace. Keep up the great work!

I am TRYING to send some packages to a patient at this treatment center and aparantely Amazon can't deliver ther. This facility only allows Amazon and Walmart but the delivery people can't deliver bc it's so top secret? Then once she gets the pkg FINALLY, the staff always says there is some reason she can't have it? Ya know, I don't have a million dollars to keep spending on this stuff and I don't appreciate this staff not letting her have tennis shoes THAT FIT HER, INSTEAD OF BEING 2 SIZES TOO BIG? But Lord forbid, they have a dabble of a color on them so she gets punished and can't have them or wear them bc of a little bit, and I mean very little bit, of color on them? She only has shoes that are literally 2 sizes too big and these guys don't give a rats behind! So what? THEY ARENT THE ONEA THAT HAVE TO WEAR TENNIS SHOES 2 SIZES TOO BIG! Why WOULD they care? Can't have the deodorant bc it isn't a certain kind. Can't have the denture cream bc it isn't up to their requirements? Nope, cant have THAT KIND OF shampoo or conditioner Makes me wonder what all you are doing to these people behind all the locks and gates? I imagine it's not good bc yall still go with covid lock downs? Do u know how many lawsuits there are against the drug makers from the vaccine? It's the FLU? You are a medical facility and u haven't figured that out yet? You guys are a joke and shouldn't be allowed to do what yall do and get away with it? Tsk tsk tsk. You will pay for your mistreatment one day. You will have to answer to the abusive ways you treat people. Bet on it! And you deserve every charge YOU WILL BE CHARGED WITH, when your day comes, as well. Better treat them right and quit with your hypocritical denials for their necessitates. Give the girl her shoes that fit her! Look around! Why is SHE the ONLY ONE that can't wear color? U don't like white people? Are yall pregidous? U must be. Bc that's just wrong to make a white girl go with shoes 2 sizes too big. U are wrong for that. Wrong for all of it! Yall are just wrong, all the way around and I hope that if u, or a loved one ever are in an awful place like that, that the staff treats u with live and kindness. Not discuss and rigidity. Knock your better than though attitude down several not he's and GIVE THE GIRL HER PERSONAL BELONGI GS. WOULD YA?!?!?!

You people do great work! My son was there 6 months. I see a radical improvement in his behaviors & mentality. Even when things are going wrong, his responses, since your program, inspire me. He is still my son but the new & improved 2.0 version. I feel like now he can actually work on having a good life. Bless you!!

My son was there 10 months ago, I thank God because the staff treated him well. They do have good counseling programs. The food may not be all that great but he says it was better than what they served at Dallas County jail. I like that they allow phone calls daily. There really has been some improvements. Overall, his experience was a good one. Thank you to all staff members. God bless you all.

When the "counselors" would take a day off the "clients" would teach the class. In 6 months my meds were changed 3 times and the meds were NEVER refilled on time. I had to detox then get my meds every month. Jail mentality, jail food, jail clothes, jail commissary. In 6 months in there I lost 50 pounds.
The AA/NA classes were a joke. 30 mines of reading the rules of a meeting then the meeting was over. Never again. I will never ever go back to that place.

I went to classes. Orientation class and many others and not once did I hear, "No family Support." If someone tells you that, there is a problem w/you. All visitors are required to be "approved" by law enforcement.
As a matter of fact, family is what they called everyone. If your loved one is there, consider them fortunate because jail/prison teaches nothing about recovery. This program is great and probably saved a life or two!

I was a client of the Phoenix House and Gateway.... Bothering experiences were similar. The staff is some of the staff are very rude and talk down to clients.
Medical issues are addressed with a "oh well, to bad to sad," type of attitude.
Counselors such as the one I had this last time also have nasty attitudes, have refrigerators and microwaves in their office. I was rudely disrespected by my appointed counselor. The canteen is terrible. The kitchen is roach infested, there were sometimes bugs in the flour.
Medication is given only if the staff feels like giving to you. I was sometimes told that I would have to wait till med call to receive my insulin when I was supposed to take it before meals therefore resulting in my drastic blood sugar drops. Nursing staff is quite rude... The only people that really helped were in education and some of the DCM's. ...

They have done great job with counseling and showing them there's a different way to live. And the food sucks. They done horrible job protectioning the inmates and coworkers. But I'm glad my baby coming home.
