I cannot say enough good things about FMAC. So far they’ve cared for 3 of our babies - an anxiety ridden Malinois with a heart condition, a rescue with fear aggression, and our most recent addition from the cat distribution system. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and compassionate. Ryan is always a pleasure and so informative, all the techs and assistants are so patient and caring with my dysfunctional crew, and Dr. Shank always spends more time with us than most other doctors so I leave well informed and I feel like she genuinely cares for each animal. Prices are pretty average if not less than many other practices, wait times are MUCH shorter. Couldn’t have asked for a better team for my babies.

Just moved to Ft Meade and had high hopes for this vet. Unfortunately..
This vet is extremely authoritative and strictly by the books. Books that she more than likely gained her knowledge from many, many ages ago. She is right and you are wrong. No matter your pets age, what problems they have, other vets you’ve seen, what they’ve gone through, their medical records, none of that matters to this vet.
I have a seizure dog and is on a lot of medications. She has been dosed and monitored extremely closely for years. Right after she introduces herself she tells me my dog shouldn’t be taking this, I don’t like giving them that, this level is too low. She didn’t even care to acknowledge my dog in the first place. Literally, she greeted herself and was only focused on what she didn’t approve of, never petted or or tried to engage in my dog in any way.

We very briefly discussed her last seizure cluster that happened only a few days ago. We didn’t discuss what we should be doing going forward, has anything happened recently, any stressors in her life, nothing else. After I told her I had to take my dog to the emergency clinic, she ll of the sudden wanted me to agree to give my dog a rabies vaccine and to administer it at that exact time. Huh? Where does that come from? I am dead serious, I was extremely confused, I couldn’t really comprehend how the discussion got there. I have a dog with serious seizure problems that just had a horrible cluster and you want to start off with giving her a rabies vaccine? (BTW, in the medical records I provided, my dog was last given a rabies shot less than two years ago. Which reinforces the fact that medical history has no role in this vets opinions or actions.) I told her I was fine with giving her another rabies vaccine but I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t interact with her other meds. She claimed she didn’t know if they would interact and they could potentially cause harm. Imagine hearing that from a vet. “I don’t know, it could cause harm..” How can you feel comfortable letting a somehow certified veterinarian give your dog something with an “I don’t know” response. I refused to let her give my dog the shot unless I knew it wouldn’t have any major adverse side effects.

I am not joking when I say this, she literally got up, told me to find another vet, and slammed the door in front of me on her way out. I couldn’t imagine being that immature after almost 70yrs of living.

These reviews on Google have to be paid for because I saw no resemblance whatsoever. Please, if you care about your pet, never take them anywhere to close to this place.

For what’s it’s worth the other staff was nice.

I mixed up the days and times of my two appointments for my cat.. the gentleman at the desk was very understanding and luckily they were still able to help me out. The dr and the vet tech were very kind and gentle with my cat. Great staff and prices are super reasonable! It feels like they’re truly there for the love of the animals. Many thanks from Otter!!!
