We brought our 12 (yes 12) 10 week old LGD puppies for vaccines and exams. At 20 lbs each, their staff was so helpful in helping us carry them in and get weights. The whole process was stress free and enjoyable. Just because there was 12 did not mean they rushed through the exams. They were thorough on the first through the last. I love their staff and the way they take care of their clients and animals. I recommend them to all my new puppy parents and our own friends and family.

We have had several dogs go to Black Forest Veterinary over the years and we’ve always had excellent service. The front desk staff have always been friendly, patient and courteous to me and my family. We typically see Dr. Liebers and she always puts us at ease, answering all our questions, giving rational advice, and making sure our dogs get great care. She makes sure we are all on the same page with any procedures and she is transparent about all the details and pricing. We love the small town feeling of this vet and will continue to see them for years to come.

The absolute best Veterinarian clinic we have ever been to. Dr. Kris is beyond amazing!!! Although Dr. Kris is who we usually see, we recently saw Dr. Tibetts when our beloved service dog crossed the rainbow bridge. He was sincere, caring, and very gentle. We have never encountered such a friendly environment from the front desk and support staff to the veterinarians. You won’t regret your decision to go here!

I have a wolf hybrid that was rescued from an overrun sanctuary. I called many places around town when a lump formed on his front leg. Although he has been our pet for 3 years and is well trained, many places wouldn’t see him because he was deemed “a wild animal”. I called here and explained his situation. I let them know that he is friendly but very scared of people. They allowed me to bring him through the back to avoid people. They treated him kindly and respectfully. We got X-rays for him and medication. The service was wonderful and they even saw us at the end of the day before closing so there weren’t many people there. They were very accommodating.

I wouldn’t recommend this clinic to anyone. We brought our dog in for an annual checkup last month and voiced our concerns about her puking and throwing up off and on for months, and how there’s blood in her stool occasionally. The annual exam was 75 dollars and took “Dr Vercelli” maybe 30 seconds. She never checked her ears or her teeth until I mentioned something about her tooth (which we found out about last year at another clinic during a thorough exam) My fiancé and I were both taken back by it, but still, we were willing to give them another chance. Aside from the exam, they didn’t seem concerned at all about my dog’s issues that were addressed. It was downplayed and we were basically told they thought it was anxiety and to try medication... We decided against that. Two weeks later there was blood in her stool again, so we went in to drop off a fecal sample and paid for it. We were told that day that we’d get a call back from the doctor with results. I waited a little over a day and called to check on the results and was told they refuse to give the results over the phone without paying to have our dog examined again. I explained how the previous exam didn’t cover everything it has any other time our dog has been seem elsewhere and that we don’t want her to be seen there again. The lady was extremely rude, talked over me most of the time and eventually hung up on me mid conversation. I felt like my dog didn’t matter and I felt very disrespected. I had to email them requesting a refund for the fecal sample since they weren’t willing to have the doctor talk to us over the phone. I thought maybe we just had an awful experience, but there are so many negative reviews from people who felt the same way we did. Bad exams get mentioned over and over again, as well as not feeling welcomed. They shouldn’t be able to charge for an annual exam and not know that checking ears and teeth is part of that. This place is just terrible. Do research and read reviews.

We are new in town and I made an appt that was scheduled for 10am which was perfect as I had a bit of paperwork to fill out first. Both dogs were seen on time and we talked with the brand new vet tech and she was very kind and efficient completing the intake even though this was the first time she had done intake at this vet clinic. She was great! Vet came in and gave the dogs an annual exam, shots, work check bloodwork, and went over all questions I had. She was very kind as well. I’d also like to say the lady’s up front were cheerful, efficient, and very helpful as well. The entire clinic was uncluttered, clean, and comfortable. I’m very happy it went well as this clinic is only ten minutes from our new home. I think we have found a new vet clinic for our pooches! I highly recommend this clinic to the public

I have taken my American Staffie/boxer mix several times and had appointments with Dr. Vercelli, Liebers, and Holcombe. I never felt welcomed by any of them - hence my attempt to try every doctor before giving a bad review. These doctors show no compassion and don't seem to like medium/large sized dogs. Lilo had a mass that I brought to their attention in fall of 2023. I was told not to worry but bring her back if it became enlarged. I take her back in May of 2024 as it had grown. They aspirated and told me it was cancerous. I knew by the care we had received here that I didn't trust them to have my child on their table for an operation, so I requested our records. In the notes from our fall visit, Liebers had noted that I, the owner, "was not much help" and the mass "was not WORTH aspirating." So I was told not to worry but in the records that notation tells me they knew the possibilities it was cancer then, but neglected to utilize interventions due to their fear of her. I also did everything within my responsibility to make sure Lilo was comfortable, but when the "doctors" are afraid to interact with one of their patients, why would you expect her to trust you all? To say I was infuriated is an understatement. NONE of these "doctors" ever attempted to get to know Lilo and acted terrified that a dog would be anxious at the vet. They would muzzle her and neglect to do a complete exam, leaving notes that she was thrashing, growling, and had whale eyes (all false statements). Since then, we have changed vets and Lilos operation elsewhere was successful. She has also never had to be muzzled, and her new doctor loves on her and gets licks to the face. In addition to the neglectful care, on our last visit the scale for collecting weight had another dogs pee on it, and the vet tech apologized and then proceeded to use a DRY paper towel to "clean" the pee from the scale, so apparently they don't care about sanitation either. If you have small dogs or cats, this may be a decent place for you. But if you have a "pitbull" mix or medium or large sized dog, I would stay away!
